Dentist for the Disabled and Elderly in Need of Treatment, Inc. (D-DENT) was founded in the Spring of 1986. The D-DENT Agency is a 501©(3) entity as determined by the Federal IRS and is registered with the State of Oklahoma as a non-profit organization available to tax-deductible donations. D-DENT began its operation as a project of Variety Health Center, a United Way funded agency the agreed to serve as the fiscal agent for the D-DENT Program. Consequently, the D-DENT Program became its own agency on October 1, 1990 with a $100,000 grant from the Oklahoma State Legislature administered through the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Dental Division.
